When a friend reaches out and says “I need to talk to you, I need help”, what do you do? Do you check your schedule and see when you might be able to fit them in, or, do you make yourself available immediately?
With our Heavenly Father, we can say “I need to talk to You” and He’s always there, available, ready to listen, ready to help and He is our most secure and trustworthy confidant. We are reminded in 1 Peter 5:7 to “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” So whatever you are struggling or battling with, we have been told to give our worries and cares to God. The key is to give and not take back. Not only does He care, but we are also told in Psalm 91:15 that “when they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honour them.”
No matter how small and irrelevant you might think your concern is or how impossibly large, God cares, He hears and He answers. He may not answer immediately but we can find comfort that no matter what our personal circumstances, or the circumstances going on in our land or worldwide that He is still on the throne and He has the perfect vantage point. He will work out things for His glory and in His timing which is always perfect. When you are in the middle of a struggle a good friend won’t just listen once, they will continue to be a listening ear to you, they will continue to make themselves available.
Things may appear strange, hopeless and desperate right now, things might even appear impossible right now in your own life or even in situations around this land and the world, however, keep being persistent in your prayers, keep coming to Him and never, ever, give up. He hears, He may not answer immediately and perhaps not in the way you would like but He will always answer.
Father, we thank You that You are a loving, all-knowing God who is always there for us. You know our struggles and the things that worry us. Father, I choose to continually give them over to You. Father, things in our land and throughout the world may even seem hopeless right now but today we continue to believe that no matter what we are told that You are still on the throne; that You are still in control and because of that we can find our peace in You. Thank You for being always there and available when we need You the most. In Your precious and loving name I pray, Amen.
