Our evil enemy Satan our adversary loves to remind us of our past. But reflect that, today is the first day of the rest of your life. We all have disappointments, failures, or things we are ashamed of. Satan loves to keep us focused on our past failures, mistakes, wrong decisions or our current circumstances. But God has a plan for your life and that plan is good. His plan is to bless you and your family and He wants to use you for his glory.
Stop looking back! Stop looking down!
Get up! Shake off the dust and look straight ahead. Stick to the path of truth, being led by God’s Word, His Holy Spirit and step-by-step allow Him to take you on that amazing journey. That path might be uncertain, rocky and hard. You might be in a battle, fighting cancer, fighting disappointments even fighting with others. No matter what you’re facing, don’t allow yourself to get sidetracked. Trust God!
God will never leave you, fail you, nor forsake you. He loves you, He sent His Son Jesus to die for you and He has a great plan to bless you. So be strong, courageous and don’t pick up any discouragements.
Then David continued, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the Lord is finished correctly. 1 Chronicles 28:20 NLT
God is in control of your destiny, so set your eyes on the path that He has placed before you. God delights in every single step that you take. Perhaps you don’t feel loved or even cared for? No matter what others have said to you, or have said about you. No matter what labels others have tried to put on you – God loves you! No matter how good or how bad you are, He loves you unconditionally and the blood of Jesus shed for your sins continually washes each of our past, present and future sins away.
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Psalms 37:23 NLT
My friend don’t get sidetracked by yesterday’s events or today’s battles. Don’t allow the concerns for tomorrow to rob you of your incredible destiny and future. Allow God to help you to enjoy His promises, His presence and His precious thoughts concerning you which cannot be numbered. Each day of your life is recorded in His book and your name is written with great pride by His hands.
You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! Psalms 139:16-17 NLT
