Is God our nation’s confidence? Is God your confidence? Is God the Church’s confidence?
We are surrounded by many different crises across the world, for example sickness, uncertainty, health pandemics, volcanic eruptions, relationship breakdowns, economic crashes, plagues, earthquakes, diseases, wars and rumours of wars. Crisis seems to grow globally day by day, month by month, and year by year.
These verses present us with a wonderful promise that God will keep our hearts at rest in every situation. But the key is relying and trusting in God. Men cannot provide a response to stop the spread of viruses, earthquakes, diseases or when we lose our joy and peace, but God can! No situation is excluded in this powerful promise, but we must allow God to be our confidence.
Friends, I ask you this question: where is your confidence in times of crisis? Are you at rest? Many people have put their trust in stock markets, leaders, a church, medical professionals, the media, friends, other gods, entertainment, but all of these can fail in times of crisis. Is it not time that we got back to trusting God again? Putting our confidence in Him, for we have rejected and neglected God. When we do this then we can enjoy the promise that He will keep our hearts at rest in every situation.
We must set down all our burdens and our worries.
Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ. Philippians 4:6 Passion Translation
We must take all our worries, burdens, concerns; every detail of our lives that troubles us, no matter how insignificant and surrender them all over to God in prayer. If we do as God’s word says, surrendering all our anxieties over to God and in faith trusting and believing in God, then His perfect peace, which is beyond our understanding will guard our hearts and minds. Reader how blessed and privileged we are to have a God who loves us so much that every detail of our lives matters to Him.
As the world races around us in crisis, turmoil, fear and uncertainty let us come humbly before God by surrendering all our worries, burdens and concerns in prayer. Make Him your great confidence for He will never fail you or turn away from you. It doesn’t matter how serious the situation is that you are facing, for nothing is impossible to God.
I want to encourage you to make God your great confidence, by putting your full trust in Him without wavering and let His peace give you rest in every storm that you might face. As you do that you will remain secure and safe in the promise that His peace will guard your heart, for He will be your confidence.
Heavenly Father, I come humbly before You acknowledging that You are a great and merciful God, full of grace and tender mercies. I surrender all my worries and concerns to You (name each of them). Thank You for Your promise of peace. You are my confidence keeping my heart at rest in every situation. Amen
